Klanksneden was an hour-long electroacoustic performance at the Oosterkerk in Amsterdam. The classical voices of Pulse Ensemble and Yuri Shundyak’s violin were altered by Interior Design, an experimental electronic music duo consisting of Jason Clark and me.

Initiating this project, the compositional role was mostly fulfilled by me - which did prove challenging at times. Lacking any formal training in electroacoustic performance or composition, it nevertheless propelled me to fundamentally reflect on the compositional process. Reflecting on contradictions and potential overlaps between various compositional ideas of thinkers like Adorno, Cage, Christoph Cox, and Curtis Roads, I found great pleasure in engaging with the sonic applications and implications of philosophical concepts and vice versa. It allowed me to scratch the surface of finding my own language within this region of thought.
